Welcome to our kitchen, everyone! Today, we're sharing a classic comfort food recipe that's sure to become a family favorite: Slow Cooker Mississippi Pot Roast. This dish is bursting with flavor and requires minimal effort - perfect for busy weeknights or lazy Sundays. So, let's gather our ingredients and get cooking!
Ingredients
-
6 tablespoons of unsalted butter, divided into 2 tablespoons and 4 tablespoons
-
1 teaspoon of sea salt
-
1 teaspoon of black pepper
-
2 to 3-pound boneless chuck roast
-
1 tablespoon of minced onion flakes
-
1 packet of ranch seasoning mix
-
1 packet of Au Jus gravy mix
-
6 to 10 pepperoncini peppers, whole
Instructions
Start by heating one to two tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Lightly season each side of the chuck roast with salt and pepper (remember, if you're using salted butter, skip the additional salt). Place the seasoned roast in the skillet and sear each side until nicely browned.
Transfer the browned roast to your slow cooker, making sure to pour in all the delicious excess butter and browned bits from the skillet.
Sprinkle minced onions evenly over the top of the roast.
Now, it's time to add the flavor bombs - the ranch seasoning mix and the Au Jus gravy mix.
Top everything off with the remaining 4 tablespoons of butter, cut into pieces, and add the whole pepperoncini peppers to the pot. Place the lid securely on the slow cooker.
Set your slow cooker to low heat and let the magic happen for about eight hours, or until the meat is tender and falls apart easily with a fork.
Once the cooking time is up, shred the meat into large, delicious chunks and give everything a good stir to combine all those amazing flavors.
For a finishing touch, garnish your Mississippi Pot Roast with some freshly chopped parsley, if desired.
