PREMIER BEEF FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS
THE RANCH
Family owned and operated, Tribe Ranch is dedicated to producing the nation’s highest-quality beef.
Our family treats all of our animals with love and respect — from the moment they’re born until processing. We feed each cow ourselves, monitor their well-being daily, and do our best to ensure the highest quality standards in the meat we produce.
We also practice regenerative ranching, which involves moving our cows from pasture to pasture. This practice allows our cattle to eat new grass and gives their previous pastures a rest for a minimum of 30 days. During this rest period, the soil and all of the creatures underneath break down and process all of the cows’ waste and rejuvenate the land, creating an organic and regenerative fertilizer for the grass.
We choose to keep our animals here on our own ranch because we take great pride in the food we provide for you and your families. We invite you to visit our ranch and see our animals and operation in action.
OUR BEEF
Akaushi cattle, also known as the "Emperor's Breed," hail from Kumamoto, Japan, where they were meticulously developed to thrive in the region's challenging terrain and climate. The breed is part of the Japanese Brown, one of Japan's native Wagyu breeds, and it was specifically enhanced in the Meiji era by crossing local cattle with European breeds to improve size and meat quality.
The Akaushi breed remained exclusive to Japan until the 1990s when a small number of cattle were exported to the United States. This marked the beginning of the American Akaushi herd, which has since maintained the purity and superior qualities of its Japanese ancestors. Today, these cattle are prized not only for their rich marbling and tender texture but also for the health benefits associated with their meat, which is high in monounsaturated fats like oleic acid, known to improve heart health.
Our Akaushi cattle continue to be purebred descendants of the original Kumamoto herds, ensuring that the beef retains its distinguished flavor, consistency, and quality. The breed's adaptability has allowed it to flourish in various climates across the U.S., including our ranch here in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
From our Tribe to your table, we hope you enjoy!
OUR LEGACY
Robert and Vikki Tankersley have always dreamed of having a ranch and living the ranch lifestyle. That dream came true when Robert sold his business and the couple founded Tribe Ranch in 2021. Both of the Tankersley’s sons and daughters-in-law — Lukas and his wife, Hayley, and Logan and his wife, Destinee — have joined the ranch, and the couple’s daughter, Caroline, spends time working alongside her family during breaks from nursing school.
Founding Tribe Ranch has been a learning process for the Tankersley family. Not only did they have to learn the ins and outs of running a ranch, but they had to learn a brand new industry. It didn’t take them long to learn, however, that they wanted their ranch to be different from the competition. Since day one, the Tribe Ranch has strived to produce the most premier beef on the market, and — with God’s help — it’s safe to say they’ve achieved their goal.
God is great, and He always will be. He has given the Tankersley family an amazing opportunity to work as a family, and to raise healthy and delicious food for America’s families. It is almost like the Garden of Eden or a little bit of Heaven on Earth. The Tribe Ranch looks forward to seeing what God has in store for the future.
